Christ as My Enjoyment, Naoki Naruse

I first met Christians in the local church at a meeting for college students. My immediate reaction was that I wanted to be a part of these “happy people.” Through their singing and sharing in that meeting, I was attracted to Christ. They were warm, smiling, and full of joy and happiness.

At the time, I was not seeking God, but inside of me I knew that I needed God. When I met in the Christians meeting with the local church, I found what I needed - God Himself.

Soon after receiving the Lord, I roomed with some other Christian believers. We were college students and had our rough spots, but when in the church we met together and even informally around the house, we were pursuing Christ together. I was impressed by their attitude in the pursuit of something very high and positive--Christ. As a newborn believer, I took these brothers as my patterns. The more I pursue Christ, the sweeter and more real He becomes to me. This is what I have been experiencing in the local church.
